Privacy notice
Last updated: October 2026
Your privacy matters to me, and I understand that getting in touch with a therapist can involve sharing personal and sensitive information. This notice explains what information I collect through this website and when you first contact me, how I use it and the choices you have.
It covers enquiries only. If we go on to work together, I will explain how I keep client records as part of our therapeutic agreement.
Who I am
I’m Natasha Mackey, a BACP registered integrative therapist (membership number 419062). I am the data controller for the personal information described in this notice, which means I am responsible for deciding how it is used and for keeping it safe. I am registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) under registration number ZC120735.
You can contact me about anything in this notice by emailing natasha@natashamackey.co.uk.
What information I collect
When you complete the contact form or email me, I receive your name, your email address, the subject of your message and anything you choose to write. If we arrange a free consultation or sessions, I may also hold your phone number and the dates and times we agree.
You don’t need to share anything about why you are looking for therapy in your first message. Your name, your contact details and a brief note are enough, and we can talk about the rest when we speak.
How I use your information
I use the information you send me to reply to your enquiry, to arrange a free consultation and, if we decide to work together, to arrange our sessions.
I will never use your details for marketing, add you to a mailing list, or sell or pass on your information to anyone for their own purposes.
The legal basis for using your information
Data protection law requires me to have a lawful reason for using your information. When you get in touch, I use your details because it is necessary to respond to your request and to take the steps you have asked for before we agree to work together.
If you choose to tell me about your health, including your mental health, this is known as special category information and has extra protection under the law. I use it only because it is necessary for providing psychological therapy, and I am bound by a professional duty of confidentiality.
Who can see your information
Your information is seen only by me. It is held by the services that make this website and my email work, which act on my instructions and only process it to provide those services. This website and its contact form are provided by Netlify, which stores form submissions in the United States and checks them for spam using Akismet. My email is provided by Google. Where these providers store data outside the UK, they use safeguards recognised under UK data protection law.
I will only share your information with anyone else if the law requires me to, or if I believe there is a serious risk of harm to you or to someone else.
How long I keep it
If we don’t go on to work together, I will delete your enquiry and our related emails within 12 months of our last contact. If we do work together, your details become part of your client record, which I will explain in our therapeutic agreement.
Keeping your information safe
I take appropriate steps to protect your information and to keep it confidential. Email is not a completely secure way to communicate, so I would encourage you to keep sensitive details for when we speak.
Cookies
This website does not use cookies, analytics or advertising trackers, and it does not track you across other websites.
Your rights
You have the right to ask for a copy of the information I hold about you, to ask me to correct anything that is inaccurate, and to ask me to delete your information or limit how I use it. You can also object to how I use your information. To make a request, email me and I will respond within one month.
Making a complaint
If you have any concerns about how I have handled your information, please let me know so that I can try to put things right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office, the UK’s data protection regulator, at ico.org.uk or by calling 0303 123 1113.

I may update this notice from time to time. The latest version will always be available on this page.
